Home of the  McKinleyville Youth Wrestling Club and McKinleyville High School Wrestling team, The Club on Central is the premier location for youth wrestling in Humboldt County.


   training programs

Fall High School Style 

This program runs from October to the school district's winter break. Focused on training in the high school style, kids will look to improve through multiple practices each week. For ages 5-17 years old.

Winter Freestyle 

This program runs from the end of January through April. Focused on training freestyle, kids will look to improve through multiple practices each week. For ages 5-17 years old.

Camps & Clinics

Hosted by the McKinleyville Youth Wrestling club, The Club for Fitness brings quality camps and clinics to youth of Humboldt County.

Bringing some of the biggest names in wrestling to speak and teach, The Club looks to ensure the best experience for up and coming wrestlers in Humboldt. Recent special guests have included Stanford head coach Rob Koll and 2x national champion Vincent Joseph from Penn State University.

Founder and owner of The Club locations, Virgil Moorehead, is also the head coach of the McKinleyville Youth Wrestling club, the McKinleyville High School team, and is the lead coach for most wrestling programs. One of his dreams behind the Central location was to be a home for youth athletic development, with wrestling training being the headliner.

Alongside Virgil is his long time assistant coach Scott Irving. An alum of McKinleyville High School himself, Scott is passionate about not only teaching the sport he loves, but also the life lessons that come with being a part of a team.
